The work of Teresa Hansen can be described most accurately by the words of Madame Stael: “Genius is essentially creative. It bears the stamp of the individual who possesses it.” Many admirers vow that Teresa’s work is a form of creative genius and an example of true talent. She leaves a bit of herself in every piece, yet brings to life the emotion and disposition of her subject. As a sculptor who is truly one of a kind, she gives life to her sculpture by capturing movement and real-life energy in her creations. With patience and skill Teresa executes her commissions to a likeness so accurate in each detail that she brings each character to a brilliant vitality. As a true testament to her abilities, Teresa’s artwork can be seen all over the world in hospitals, libraries, churches, schools and both corporate and private collections. In spite of the fact that her sculpture has received numerous awards in the last 30 years, her greatest rewards are the countless letters of gratitude from her collectors and clients.

She has been praised for her ability to work exceptionally well in fine detail to capture likeness in stylized realism and figurative sculpture. Standing next to one of her children bronze sculptures, for which she is most renowned, is undoubtedly a unique experience. Beauty and grace in her work convey quiet strength and genuine talent; be it a sketch, relief or bronze – from miniatures, life-size, to monumental sculpture.

In the recent years Teresa has added another artist to her studio. Jason Dreweck, Teresa’s oldest son whose passion for sculpture began to develop in childhood, started to create his own pieces inspired by the work of his mother and many talented artists he encountered on the road while traveling to sculpture shows and exhibits.
