The
New York Says Thank You Foundation
From
an act of extraordinary evil on September 11, 2001, Americans responded
with so many acts of extraordinary kindness. People from all across the
United States poured into New York City to volunteer, to pay their respects,
and to be with us in our darkest moment.
New
Yorkers will never forget that.
The
mission of The New York Says Thank You Foundation is to send volunteers
from New York City each year on the 9/11 Anniversary to help rebuild communities
around the country affected by disasters. It is our way of commemorating
the extraordinary love and generosity extended to New Yorkers by Americans
from all across the United States in the days, weeks, and months following
9/11.

Hello Forever Inspired
Teresa Hansen !
Wow what a way to sign a letter. Now
I know I REALLY have a lot to live up to! I have attached a few
of the best photos from the Tony Nata project showing the picture
we used of your son fishing.Wed be honored to have any of
the photos/story/linked to your website. If you like, you can also
create a link to the CNN story about us building Tonys fishing
deckThat video link is here: http://www.newyorksaysthankyou.org/video/nystk_slidell02.wmv
Remember, what started out as a small project
to build Tonys fishing decks eventually led to rebuilding
his whole house and adding a clean-room addition to
his house! After the CNN and NBC Nightly News stories, we wound
up with over 150 volunteers from around the country who helped to
rebuild the entire house and finished it the very day that Tony
came home from the hospital following the bone marrow transplant.
Most importantly, Tonys doing great now and is in remission.
You can keep up with his updates at www.caringbridge.com
click visit a site and type in tonynata
Teresa the bottom line is things happen for a reason. Something
inspired you that day to draw the picture of your son fishing and
something inspired us to use it so many years later to truly set
the tone for this special project of the heart. That picture, with
the little boy staring off the dock gave so much hope and comfort
and inspiration to Tonys family and all the volunteers that
things were going to be OK and with Gods help
its worked out. Have a wonderful Holiday Season and I hope
to meet up some day in Colorado or in New York !
All the best,
Jeff
